Yvonne's Vegan Kitchen

This bakery is ridiculous. I've been buying Yvonne's products for years, but always at grocery stores. The fact that she opened a brick and mortar makes it way too easy to go overboard on amazing baked goods, and I'm so happy and so upset about it both at the same time. Happy because everything here is tasty. EVERYTHING. I'd say the majority of the products are on the sweet side, but there are savory options like breads, cheese-spreads, crackers, and biscuits too. There's probably something for everyone. I'm upset because Yvonne's has gone from a rare grab at the grocery store to a semi-weekly expenditure. And while the entire shop is delicious, it's not cheap, which is something I have to remind myself while shopping. As soon as I step in the shop, I'm hypnotized by the display cases, calling me to buy all of it. Must... resist... It's Dangerous. Donuts, cakes, breads, cupcakes, cookies, pies, sweet breads, biscuits, cheeses, and more. The "goat" cheese spread is what my wife and I have been hooked on for practically a decade, but it's all addictive. The jalapeño cheddar biscuits are always a must. The bread pudding is incredibly rich but so, so good. I like the ube and pandan cookies because they're not over-the-top sweet. We generally grab an assortment just to shake things up, along with our staples. We've even snagged a number of the small Happy Birthday cakes for my kiddos. Yvonne setting up shop in Pasadena is a solid win for the city. And yes, everything is vegan, but in most cases you'd never know. This is top-kotch baking, plain and simple, so don't feel like this is a "place for vegans." It's a place for people who like baked goods. The only not-great thing I can think of is the parking. The parking is rough around here, so swinging through to grab things quickly can be a challenge. And like I said earlier, the price tag can climb pretty quickly. But as we've all heard a million times, you get what you pay for. And Yvonne's is absolutely worth it.

Just amazing...this stuff is so beautiful I almost didn't want to eat it! But I did, haha, and it was great! I love that there is so much variety, from cookies to cakes, and the owner is such a sweet person! I'll definitely keep them in mind for my birthday when it rolls around in August. Keep up the good work!

Best gluten free and vegan desserts! Lots of great variety

The chocolate cake was not good. Icing was so hard that we can't even cut the cake with a butter knife. Had to hack it open. The icing was very thick, hard and oily without much flavor. The crumbs was no better than what comes out of a cake mix. I guess the standards are completely different for a vegan cake? I wouldn't recommend this cake at any price point, let alone at this premium.

Unbelievably good. After a few years of a gluten allergy, I didn’t think I could eat desserts that are this phenomenal. And vegan, too! The molasses cookie was fantastic but the Samoa cookie pie was incredible (and brought back so many good memories of Girl Scout cookies I can no longer eat!) Will definitely be back and will be recommending widely!

I never write reviews but Yvonne's is incredible! I live in Oakland and was just passing through Pasadena when I was looking for a place that could accommodate my allergens. I was thrilled to find Yvonne's- everything not only vegan but gluten free! Her desserts are incredible– truly delicious, and the texture is just right. I loved the cupcakes especially. Thank you, Yvonne!

We ordered a wedding cake from Yvonne’s, which was so delicious and exactly what we imagined after tasting all the different options! Staff were incredibly responsive, helpful, and polite the entire time– not a single bad experience interacting with them. Wonderful cake and wonderful service; would recommend for anything.

I wasn't a huge fan. I got a cupcake which was dry small and expensive, and a slice of ube bread which was better but also expensive.

Ordered a cake and the doughnuts for my sons birthday. He turned 3 and has an egg allergy, so we needed a vegan cake. Purchase was easy and they had good communication. The cake and the doughnuts we super yummy and were definitely a crowd pleaser. Would order again and would recommend to friends! (only reason for the 4/5 stars is that the doughnuts were a bit pricey for the size - knowing they are mini).
