A few weeks ago, I saw the most appalling thing at San Idli. The servers were trying to make a video of some woman and a bulky woman cashier seemed to encourage the behavior. This place is looking at a sexual harassment lawsuit in the near future. It is an unsuitable place for families and unsafe space for women! I suggest the owner get going on some gender sensitization workshops for his cooks, cleaners and servers. They need to understand consent, privacy and respect for women. I hope this review gets the attention of the owner!

San Idli is an absolute gem in San Diego! Amazing food and equally amazing staff!! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuinely friendly service. The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. Tried virtually every food item they offer over multiple visits. Every dish is bursting with authentic South Indian flavor. The idlis are soft and perfectly steamed, the dosas are crisp and golden, and the chutneys and sambar are incredibly fresh and flavorful. Our favorite items are the veg noodles and the Pav Bhaji which reminds us of the same great taste we get back in India!! Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a wholesome, flavorful, and friendly dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!
