Sushi here has unique flavors and presentation and the fact that they serve so many options of vegan sushi is beyond impressive. Loved the boddy & soul and the green mango nigiri followed by candlestick. The surprise ending was interesting and I got the habanero sushi but not as good as the three mentioned before. Had karage for the first time ever and it was sweet so not a fan, though I'm not sure what real karage tastes like.

The food was awesome! We hadn’t had vegan sushi before. We had experienced a mixed bag of restaurants as tourists in SF, coming from nyc. Shizen did not disappoint. Would absolutely recommend for people who like sushi and are veg inclined, and open to tofu. Really delicious, well prepared food. Make a reservation in advance. we had the proud peacock, secret weapon, green roll & brusselsprouts. All fresh & tasty!

SO good omg. We shared the eggplant nigiri, colonel's pipe and candlestick which were heavenly. I wish I lived there so I could try the whole menu. The tofu isn't just sliced tofu but almost tasted like tuna or crab. Delish. Make sure to make a reservation.

I've had vegan sushi in many major cities in the United States, and this place hands down was the best.

This is hands down the best vegan sushi I’ve ever had! I was lucky to snag a seat right away, with no wait. I tried the Boddy and Soul and Open Invitation from the Specialty rolls - both were outstanding. I was genuinely amazed by the incredible flavors in every bite. The sauces and ingredients were perfectly balanced and complemented each other beautifully. Since I don’t eat raw fish, finding this vegan sushi spot was a real treat. The hype is definitely justified! The service was fantastic, and my food arrived super quickly. I can’t wait to come back and sample more dishes from the menu.

We didn't realize this restaurant was vegan until after we sat down and saw the menu. We had been craving sushi and almost left--I'm so glad we didn't. The flavors and textures were fantastic, and the atmosphere and service were incredible. I would love to go back and try even more dishes. We had four different rolls and shared the dessert and spent a bit over $90 with tip (no drinks). We left totally satisfied.

Have always loved this place. Adore all their sushi dishes. We don't try anything other than the sushis. I also love their sister store in Palo Alto - Tane Vegan!
