Bammy’s in DC brings the islands to the city in such a stylish and refreshing way. The indoor Caribbean vibe is beautiful—bright, relaxing, and full of good energy. The staff was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. The food had familiar flavors but with a creative twist. It’s definitely different from what I’ve had in Jamaica, but that’s what made it so fun to try! It’s a modern take on Caribbean cuisine, and it was great exploring the unique dishes and presentations. If you’re open to something new, flavorful, and full of culture, Bammy’s is definitely worth a visit! 🇯🇲🌴🍽️✨

The supervisor was extremely rude. I didn't care about all the hair in my food. He charged me for a drink twice, I had to go but tried to give me a smaller drink after I paid.... he was sneaky about it and I was super extra friendly and nice 7 THUMBS DOWN 4 being petty coming from a Trini Born and Raised on Capitol Hill happy to see them here but ewwwwww!!!

I ordered the oxtail and was pretty disappointed, over priced and did not receive much oxtail or rice. I saw past reviews stating the restaurant runs out of items frequently, same thing happen with me when I ordered the Jerk pork, they called me back and I replaced it with the chicken and ended up chewing on more bones than meat. The staff did their job and the restaurant itself was nice but the food wasn’t the best and was overpriced.

I came here on mother’s day weekend with a reservation. They acted like they didn’t know about the reservation and sat us down just to have us waiting 30 minutes until we flagged someone down to serve us. We ordered water and then waited an additional 15 minutes to take order for food. The table next to us came an hour later and got all of their food before us including the red snapper we ordered. (The waiter served the peppers for the red snapper escovitch long before she came back which was over 30 minutes later. When the waiter came back and asked if we needed anything and we told her the red snapper and oxtails. She came back and told us they were now out of everything after we had been sitting there for two hours (My mom got her pasta, which is why we were still waiting there anyways). I don’t think they even cared because they got the 20% service fee anyways. They weren’t even that busy on mother’s day to have had that horrible of a service. Very disappointing and humiliating experience

We did brunch here. Right off the bat, they told us they didn't have oxtail. I asked for the steak and eggs... Apparently they didn't have steak either. So I got the oxtail and brisket hash - I was told they would double up on the brisket. Well it was 90% potato and 10% brisket. The brisket was very tiny pieces I could hold on a fingertip. Honestly, it shouldn't have been offered. I was charged $23 for some potatoes. My friends fought to have the bill reduced, which the manager discounted it by 50% - I'll give them credit for acknowledging our disappointment with the meal. The rum punch mimosa kit was $50+ for a bottle of rum punch and a bottle of champagne. I just don't think the cost represents the quality and amount of food you will receive... That said, it wasnt horrible, just really disappointing. According to other reviews the missing items seem like a common occurrence. Oh well. At least management took care of it.

First, the food was authentic Caribbean food! It was delicious, well seasoned, the jerk salmon Rasta pasta was jerking compliments to the chef. Second, the atmosphere was homey, the people were amazing, so friendly, welcoming, both Larry & Jasmine top tier customer service. Lastly, the drinks were excellent, packed a punch & really did the job. If you ask me I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good place to eat and vibe!

I came here with my family of seven on Mother’s Day, my mom dad sister husband, my two kids and did I mention I’m 8 months pregnant with my third. We had reservations for 12:45, and stood for 20 minutes only for them to sit us, never greet us or bring us waters after waiting another 30 minutes. We left. It’s Mothers Day. I can’t believe this was my experience.

My family of seven had a reservation for Mother’s Day. We arrived on time, yet still experienced a delay in being seated. Once we were finally seated, no one came to attend to us—not even to offer water or basic table settings. We waited for 40 minutes past our reservation time without any service whatsoever. I asked to speak with a manager, but no one ever came to address the situation or offer any form of communication. This was, by far, the worst service and lack of professionalism I’ve ever experienced.
