Pow Pow

I have been a loyal customer of Pow Pow's H Street NE DC location for several years, and while I appreciate their commitment to offering 100% vegan options and a diverse menu that caters to various taste preferences, my recent experiences have been inconsistent and often disappointing. Customer service at this location particularly and the Franklin Square location(infrequently) has been hit or miss. While some staff members are welcoming and professional, I've encountered numerous instances of nonchalant and rude responses when addressing incorrect or missing items in my orders. I've also faced negative reactions regarding requests for substitutions or exclusions, despite always paying for these modifications and leaving tips. Furthermore, I have attempted to contact management multiple times via email to address these concerns, but my messages have either been ignored or met with a lack of genuine regard for my feedback as a paying customer. Most recently, I experienced a particularly disturbing incident involving a staff member whose behavior appeared to be racially motivated. Beyond the service issues, there have been several occasions where my daughters and I have found hair in our food (of which I have photo evidence), and other times the food quality has been subpar. When ordering delivery, I've received orders that were completely incorrect, and I was informed that nothing could be done, forcing me to inconveniently drive to the restaurant to pick up a corrected order after already paying a delivery fee. Despite these challenges, when the food is prepared with care and precision, it is truly excellent. I believe that with focused training in customer service, a refresher on hygienic food handling practices, and an emphasis on order accuracy, the relationship between their business and its customers, including myself, could significantly improve.

Great place for plant based options that aren't dull. The creativity of the menu makes for lots of interesting choices!

My initial review from 2019 was five stars. unfortunately this is not longer the case. The coupons I get can only be used at the Franklin Square location which is ridiculous. Management also can't be bothered to respond to emails. Substitutions aren't allowed when ordering online; having to wait until I'm in store to place my order the way I'd prefer is extremely inconvenient. Dishes are unique, creative and always delicious, prices are decent for the amount of food you get and service is generally pretty good. only complaint would be that the broccoli is usually overcooked and turns a little brownish green.

I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN. The doordasher stole my food order and they would not issue me a refund or process a re dilivery order from this site. They are now not answering the phone after the doordash customer service reached out to them. PLEASE DO NOT ORDER DIRECTLY FROM THIS PLACE , IF SOMETHING HAPPENS THEY WILL NOT ASSIST AS LONG AS THEY RECEIVED YOUR MONEY!!!!

The new breakfast sandwich is the best I've had lately

The grilled vegan shrimp with fried rice was pretty good. However, it would have been great if it included more shrimp. It only came with 3-pieces of shrimp with a small drizzle of mayo sauce, that was served in a pint sized container. Besides that, the customer service was great and I would definitely visit again to try out their other specialties.

I am never disappointed when I dine here. The Tokyo Roboto was delicious!!!!!!

Can't sing enough of Pow Pow's praises! I order from them for work catering whenever I get the chance. Their food is fresh, delicious, and always a highlight from our events.
