Great service and quick appetizer (sampannee wings) I had. Will definitely be back when in the D.C. area to order an entree ☺️

Located in a bustling neighborhood of DuPont, just a little away from all the craziness, this restaurant sits one flight of stairs up from the road. The vibe here is Southeast Asian, with lots of vibrant colors and umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. The restaurant itself is somewhat narrow, and you’re seated quite close to the neighboring tables. As for the food, we started with the curry puffs, which weren’t particularly impressive. The spring rolls were oily and didn’t meet the usual Thai spring roll expectations — we could have skipped both appetizers. For the entrees, we ordered the vegetarian version of the Massaman curry and the Khao Soi with tofu and vegetables. Both were really tasty and definitely worth trying. However, the service was disappointing. We were seated but not attended to for at least 15 minutes. During that time, a few other tables were seated and had their orders taken. That felt odd. When our server finally arrived, she seemed rushed and not particularly happy to be helping us. When we asked a few questions about the menu (since it was our first time there), she responded rudely and begrudgingly, creating a rather hostile experience. She only checked in on us once during our entire visit. To be fair, a couple of other staff members who brought out our food were friendly and pleasant — but not the lady who initially served us. Maybe she didn’t speak the language well, but even so, good customer service goes a long way. Overall: the entrees were great, but the appetizers and service left a lot to be desired.

The Pad See Ew and the Pad Thai (both with chicken) that we ordered were delicious. Service was helpful and friendly. It was a little hot inside the restaurant during our visit despite the portable AC unit. Hopefully, the AC in the restaurant has been fixed.

Their Panang curry is probably the best I’ve ever had. I also tried the dumplings which were also superb. Great authentic taste, will definitely be back!
