Mr. Cesar’s Mexican Grill

This place is hard to see from the street so you might miss it if you drive by. It’s next to the gas station on the corner. I had the taco dinner with steak. The meat was very good and the salsa was unique and tasty. The prices are reasonable and service was fast. This is worth trying out if you want good tacos and such. They do take out, but have plenty of seating if you eat in. The chips and salsa were above average, so it’s worth it.

We were thrilled to try this New Mexican restaurant, given its glowing reviews. Sadly, our excitement was short-lived. The service was okay, but the food and salsa were mediocre. Cold chips didn't help. The only redeeming quality was the green salsa. Not sure what we missed...

Halfway thru my marinated steak burrito and I must say, this is pretty darn good! And the verde sauce some of the best I had.

It's a nice hidden gem. Stop by on Saturday around 3pm. Food was delicious i got the taco dinner wife got the torta dinner. The meat was juicy and the torta was big, pre-covid big. Horchata was sweet not bland. Can't wait to go back and try something different. Maybe a molcajete or menudo. They have slots but in a separate room, which is nice and not in the open.

This unexpected delight in the neighborhood. Great family owned very friendly. Food is amazing and portions are good too. This has become our new favorite Mexican food. Have been back already multiple times.

Mr. Cesar’s is an amazing spot, the food is scrumptious and the price makes it taste even better. They got great service and a wonderful atmosphere. Definitely recommend it

Mr.Cesar’s is the real deal. We had a large order for 10 people. The food was fantastic and the price is unbeatable.

I was really hopeful for this place since it's practically walking distance from my house. And it had really good reviews and Elgin has a million taco places so the fact that this one had such good reviews and was so close to my house made me hopeful. I got the steak taco dinner. The rice and beans were absolutely delicious and the homemade hot sauce was perfect. But the steak meat in the tacos was so chewy and hard I couldn't even finish more than one taco. I don't know what was wrong with it but it was like chewing on pure cartilage. Threw out the tacos. It was maybe the worst steak meat I've ever had in a taco 😭 They have such good reviews maybe I just went in on a bad day or it was a bad batch of steak. I don't know but it was really disappointing and I never write bad reviews on any page ever but the meat was so hard and chewy I couldn't even finish it. 😔 Honestly the steak was one star. I gave them three stars because I feel bad and the rest of the food tasted good.
