The Rooted Vegan

A friend and I had lunch here Saturday, July 5. The billboard menu was on the sidewalk and listed a Summer Berry Salad which was behind our choice for lunch. The salad was heavenly, mixed greens with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and pecans with lemon poppyseed dressing. This was the best I have had in any restaurant. We added a restaurant baked cookie, maple pecan and pumpkin with maple icing. They were melt in your mouth spectacular. If you are in Angola stop in the Rooted Vegan. You won't be sorry!!!

We drive almost an hour to get here. So worth it. The deserts are incredible, the coffee cake and peanut butter pie are so good. The chicken bacon ranch is our fave but notable mentions are biscuit & gravy and the walking taco was great. Wish they’d bring back the nacho cheese sauce!!

I ordered their Pepper crusted Bowl. It was so so good. The service was great, it was nice and clean as well. Definitely coming back.

Can’t wait to come back! Best vegan food I’ve had anywhere! Everything was great!! Only tip of advice would be to make the curious George smoothie cold because it was Luke warm not what I expected but all our food, drinks and sweets were 10/10 and worth every penny. Also really love that they are raising awareness about animal rights and what they go through!

Hi, we heard this place is good and only 30 minutes away, we would love to visit, if you ever extend your hours or do weekend hours! We only can make it after 5 pm weekdays and have orchestra in defiance on Thursday evenings. Hopefully will be able to make it on a day off or something sometime!!! Sincerely, Two hungry vegans Edit: I went on a Friday that I was off for an appointment. Food was good, atmosphere was good and the staff was awesome! Definitely going to go again. My husband did mention his burrito wasn’t as good as he hoped because they use just egg and he was expecting something more of the consistency of scrambled tofu. It’s probably more of a him thing not knowing what to expect but if you’re used to tofu scramble and haven’t had just egg scramble the texture is different I guess and some people probably like it more that way :P

Got carry out today for the first time, food was pretty good just a little disappointed my bowl didn’t have any tofu in it. Will definitely try again.

Love this place so much. Excellent food and delicious ice cream! Fantastic job in providing this mostly carnivore part of the state some vegan options! Can't find them anywhere else but this amazing little restaurant. Wish they were open in the evenings, too!

Fast friendly service with very tasty food! I recommend the Big 'Ol Burrito to all my family, friends, and fans.
