This is my favorite restaurant in Des Moines! The food is so good! There is not a bad dish on the menu!

I ordered sausage with sticky. Only come out as 4 thin slices of sausage. Not what they posted on the menu. Deceiving advertising. The place is old and not clean. Expensive not worth it. Compare to other Asian restaurants in Des Moines

Excellent food! Lots of vegetarian options, tasty, fresh, and fun! Service was great, even though it's counter service the staff took the time to check on tables, and were very friendly. The tofu is great with the scallion pancake, and the egg rolls were excellent.

Today was our first time here and we’ll def be back the next time we are driving through from WI to CO! Our food was delicious and I’m excited to try other items on the menu. We appreciate the vegan options. The quirky decor was also a hit!

I just had the most incredible self-love date at Lucky Lotus, and I can’t stop raving about it! The food was absolutely sensational—so flavorful and incredibly fresh! On top of that, the customer service was top-notch. I’m already counting down the days until next week when I take my hubby along to share in this culinary delight!

Lemon grass chicken was amazing

Great food with plenty of vegan options and a great atmosphere. I thought the crispy rice wraps and curries were all really tasty. Portion sizes are unfortunately a bit small compared to other nearby Asian restaurants with similar prices, but what you do get is delicious.

Woh, never been here before and I was blown away. Food is delicious, highly recommend. Great location, service was top notch. I wasn't exactly sure what all of the items were or came with but my meal and guests meal was 5 stars. Will be going back.

Service could use serious improvement. One of our entrees never arrived, and when we asked about it, we found out the staff hadn’t entered the order correctly. Since it wasn’t in the system, they refused to make the entree without charging us again — even though the mistake was entirely theirs. By that point, all of our other food had already been served, and the person missing their meal had to share with the rest of us. It was a frustrating experience and left a poor impression. We would have appreciated the restaurant taking responsibility and making things right.

Obsessed with this cute and charming Thai/Laos restaurant located on the popular Ingersoll strip in Des Moines, IA. Best Khao Poon in the city!!! They are just killin’ it with their flavorful dishes and lots of vegan options as well. Very welcoming and casual style restaurant with plenty of seating available inside and a small outdoor patio in the back. It’s order at the counter but service is still fantastic, food flavorful and fabulous and all around a locally owned SE Asian city gem. I don’t live in Iowa anymore and every time I go back and visit, I make it one of my favorite stops for lunch and then also order like five menu items to take back home to Michigan, did I mention I love this place? Highly recommend for anyone who’s craving Thai:Lao food. Great location too!
