I always have a great time at My Mama's Vegan. During my last visit, the owner hosted a Juneteeth celebration. Ginger Noodle samples were made available and complimentary wine was offered. I ordered a vegan gyro from the special menu which was so tasty and delicious. A couple of local vendors had popups there. I purchased product from each of them. I had THEE BEST vegan ice cream sandwich from Imperfect Vegan.

Great little spot with unique vegan food. Definitely worth the drive for people who want things they craved before they made the switch. I really wish she would open up a spot in Silver spring, Columbia or Laurel.

I highly admire the effort to provide plant-based meals in a community otherwise lacking nutritious quick bites. The space is somewhat like a collective that also offers a mini bookstore of Black voices in literature as well as metaphysical and body care products. The late-night weekend hours really saved me as a vegan visiting from out of town. (However, be aware that the neighborhood is NOT walkable for women at nighttime.) The customer service was extremely dismissive and uninviting, but the food was great. My biggest concern was the tattoo equipment and table near the dining area, that seems like a blatant health code violation.

I’ve tried hard to give this place a fair chance. I ordered pick up through DoorDash once from them and I went in to check of it was ready. Granted, I hadn’t ordered that way before so I was a little unsure on how it worked and I didn’t know they told you when it’s ready. That’s on me. But when they informed me I simply and very kindly said “oh sorry, thanks” and the second I left out they canceled my order. I still ordered from them since then because I used to like the food, but it’s been subpar over and over. I don’t know what happened more recently because I really used to enjoy this place.
