Very bad customer service, I order 5 thali set and 2 fries for my kids, need to wait for thali for 40 mins and fries came in 1 hour, kids are crying and we need to asked them when the fries is coming, feel so bad that we finessed eating and out kids are still waiting for the fries. No any recommendations for this place they took so much time to make just the fries. Very rude people, I could give 0 star.

I CAN NO LONGER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Once a haven for panipuri lovers, my recent experiences have been nothing short of disheartening. The quality has taken a nosedive, and the wait times have become absurd—often around 30-40 minutes. To add insult to injury, it appears that friends of the staff or owners are allowed to skip ahead in line while the rest of us are left to stew in our impatience. The flavors, once so delicious have become inconsistent and dull. It feels as though I’m biting into bland, boiled potatoes submerged in plain water. The garlic water, which should be a flavorful kick, resembles nothing more than a glass of tasteless water. I also have my suspicions about the portion size; they somehow manage to miscount the number of puris served, leaving you feeling shortchanged. If a puri is cracked, rather than replacing it, they still serve it. Each visit leaves me feeling rushed. SAVE YOURSELF the disappointment—there are countless other places nearby that offer a quicker, tastier, and far more hygienic experience.

To begin with it’s a busy place all the time, I have tried Pani Puri here many times but the hard part is the line for it, you might lose the patience waiting for it. Manchurian’s are okay I would say and are more towards the tangy taste. Seating can be difficult to find since they have very limited space. Parking can also be extremely difficult.

Had to wait 30 minutes just for pani puri, which was really frustrating. The staff was extremely slow and, honestly, quite irritating. The experience made it clear that better training is definitely needed. Hope to see improvements in the future.

We visited Vatan Restaurant in Jersey City and ordered the Dahi Puri, but unfortunately, it was disappointing. The flavors felt off — the puris weren’t crisp, the quantity of dahi was less and the overall taste lacked freshness and balance. Definitely not up to the mark, especially considering the expectations for a staple chaat item. Hope they improve the quality going forward.

Vatan is a standout vegetarian Indian restaurant in New York City, offering an immersive dining experience that transports guests to a traditional Gujarati village. Vatan offers a prix fixe, all-you-can-eat thali menu, featuring a variety of vegetarian dishes. The meal begins with appetizers like mini samosas and chana masala, batata wada, Khaman, Sev Puri, Ragda Patty, Chili Bhajia followed by entrées such as Puri, Rotli, Shak etc. homemade Indian ice cream and gulab jamun, complemented by masala chai. Worst place ever please avoid. Gave a wrong order to me and my friend, and didn't apologise or anything. They took the cake back and refunded our money, most likely wanting to sell the cake again. No manners from them whatsoever.

I visited Vatan Bakery and ordered samosas, cutlets, and puffs. When I reached the counter, the cashier handed me a box and I asked, “Is this my order?” He replied “Yes” and prompted me to tap for Apple Pay—the total came to just over $20. When I got home and opened the box, I discovered mango cake instead of my savory items. I called the bakery immediately, and a different employee picked up. He insisted, “You picked up the wrong order,” despite the fact that the first cashier had clearly confirmed my items and asked me to tap my card. When I explained that I had specifically verified the order, the representative responded, “YOU SHOULD HAVE OPENED THE BOX AND CHECKED.” Rather than apologize or offer a refund, he argued and refused to help. I asked if they offered delivery or any alternate solution, and I was told “no,” but that I could return for a refund. Unfortunately, I had arrived in my roommate’s car and was unable to return immediately. A few hours later, my roommate called the bakery, and this time the original cashier answered and agreed that we could return for a refund “tomorrow.” This forced us to repeat the entire trip solely to retrieve our money—an absurdly inconvenient process. Overall, this experience was nerve-cracking and frustrating. Instead of taking responsibility, the staff blamed me, refused to apologize, and made me jump through hoops to obtain my refund.
