Absolutely amazing experience. The guy making our food was all by himself at the moment servicing a pretty large amount of people and doing so with the best vibes and energy. He made the best tilapia I've ever tasted and this place deserves so much recognition. I absolutely recommend coming here

So this place is quite unique indeed! Old food is reheated by microwaving. Some dishes and sides are store bought ( great value packages) . Unclean silverware, plates and he never wore gloves or washed his dirty hands .I asked for a to go box because I couldn't bring myself to eat what I ordered. I literally thought it was a joke when I was given an old olive container and an over used Tupperware. Respectfully...wtf? I would NOT recommend eating or drinking a glass of H20 at this over cluttered side closet. This place is on my DNR list

So friendly and so much to look at! A very eclectic place with all kinds of art and games and posters and little things to find. Our order was taken by the very friendly owner who also did all the cooking. The food was really tasty, spiced perfectly, and vegan or whatever level of vegetarian or not that you prefer. I had eggs while my boyfriend had a chickpea egg substitute that was pretty good (we are not vegan so it was a new thing for us to try). There was live music and the people were very friendly and sang songs we could sing along with. It is not a spic-and-span modern restaurant. You will feel transported to a different time. I will also say that I have a very delicate constitution, and I did find eating here. It was a lovely experience to wrap up our time in Schenectady.

Hurry up and eat at Moon & River before they raise their prices. The atmosphere is from the 1960s and the prices are from the 1990s. I enjoyed the tempeh Reuben and house salad. They also sell sundry household items super cheap in the little hutch in the back. Live music and a mellow, friendly vibe complete the scene. Like stepping back to a kinder, gentler time. Cash only but they have an ATM.
