Bean Vegan Cuisine

I love the COWBOY BURGER!!! Great food and people made me feel welcome!! I will be there often! It's worth the drive from uptown. This restaurant is the real thing - not a "trying to be vegan" it is real food, created by long term people of the vegan cultures.

Order the Steak fries and add chili and ranch on them, They are AMAZING!!!! Trust me! Owner and staff ate very polite.

I've easily become obsessed with this Eatery! The food is SO good and SO satisfying. The staff / owner, exceptional people with a real care for the customers. My fav is the tofu finger bowl with a side of chocolate cake! Items are a bit on the pricier side but it's competitive with other vegan locations. I visit a few times a week and try not to go during high-traffic times but honestly would come everyday if I didn't absolutely hate driving on independence (drivers are reckless). Highly recommend 10/10!

I ate at Bean for the first time today and absolutely loved meeting Charlie the owner. The place is 100% vegan. The menu is American with burgers, fries etc. There are salads etc for healthier vegan options. I am really excited to have found another vegan gem! 12 years late but better than never.

The bean is a Charlotte staple, vegan or not. The food is top notch and cooked with love. Charlie is awesome as is the rest of the staff, and yes that even includes Mr. Tijuana Tim Supurra who works the front end. He even took a pause from his hectic, busy shift to allow me to snap a pic. Love y’all!

I was here for Brad Williams, and I had stage two sunburn on my legs while being here waiting in line for the meet an greet an the staff gave me a chair to sit in so my legs wouldn't give out from blood not circulating. Massive shout out to the staff.

I don't know who made my BBQ grits bowl this AM but it was THE best dang one I have ever had, almost made me tear up. And I order this almost every Sunday

May 2025 update: I removed a star because I’m not satisfied with the changes since my last visit. I’m from out of town and only stop by every year or two when driving through. The food has changed. Thank heavens there’s hot sauce and salt at each table because it’s lost some of the “southern” taste. There’s nothing special about beans and rice that I desire to go to a restaurant and pay $18.99 to top with kale when I can just make it at home. I wasn’t able to try the sandwiches this time but they do have a big list of burgers and sandwiches to try. The crabbie cakes were to die for and they no longer make them. They also stopped with the milkshakes because it wasn’t turning them a profit. I have no idea how people aren’t obsessed with vegan milkshakes. I’m a little sad they got rid of the retail section but it’s understandable and is a restaurant after all. Really, without the milkshakes and crab cakes, I’ve lost incentive to come here. 2021: This was amazing! I was just passing through and decided to stop here and I don’t regret it. I ordered the crabbie platter and got a side of tater tot casserole and red beans with rice. All of it was delicious and you wouldn’t know the crabbie patties are vegan! I also got some crabbie dip to go and it was so good I couldn’t stop eating it! They also sell some vegan products and I was most delighted by the vegan candies so I got a bunch of those too. Bean is a great place and I highly recommend it! Update: August 2022! Still amazing! I recommend this place to EVERYONE
