Mexico Restaurant

I have been a weekly customer of the Short Pump Mexico for over 30 years. I LOVE this place, but in the last year, something has changed and not for the better. The salsa is still the best, but about 6 months ago, the chips started tasting like old grease and the bag when I get take out is almost translucent with grease. Last week my wife and I came in for dinner and I ordered a Fajita Quesadilla. It was not edible. Opening up the tortilla revealed the ingredients were swimming in a lake of grease. My wife has had similar experiences the last few times here. I don't know if they changed cooks or the management no longer takes pride in the quality of their food, but after 30 years, we may not be coming back. There are too many other better Mexican restaurants in the area. It's a shame.

Nice Mexican restaurant. I got the taco salad with grilled chicken and a margarita. The chicken was well-seasoned and very good. The cheese sauce they have is really nice also. Everything was good and I definitely would go back to try some other items on their menu.

Had a wonderful family dinner

I ordered the carne asada quesadilla, so I can really only speak on that. It didn't have enough cheese to hold it together properly and I'm 99% sure they use white American cheese, which is blasphemy. The carne asada has no seasoning, unless you consider grease seasoning. Service is OK. The gentleman who took my carryout order was friendly. The woman who gave me my order... not so much. I just saw a bag in my peripheral and heard a voice say "here's your food". Atmosphere leaves something to be desired. Although I did not dine in, the restaurant didn't feel clean to me. It felt overly humid inside. I'm giving this place 2 stars simply for the rice, which was pretty good. I regret tipping 25% on my order. I don't think I'll be going back.

Wow! It’s been a long time since I’ve come to Mexico Restaurant, and I’m impressed! I ordered a to-go lunch just for myself, the grand total with chips and salsa was only $13, and it was ready within 5 minutes!?! It was clean inside, lovely customer service, and they will take phone orders for pick up!

I was there for total of 28 minutes and was asked if everything was okay and if I needed 5 times!! I felt quite rushed and unwelcome during my visit. The food was good; I ordered shrimp tacos, house Margarita I ate them quickly to avoid being asked if I needed anything else. I even considered asking for me to be boxed to-go, all reasonably priced. However, I will not return. I went around 3 PM, and despite being the only one sitting outside felt very rushed for no reason!
