The food is good but the service was poor. They only provided one cup of glass of water for 3 people and the service lady was rude

I'll tell you what. In this day and age if you don't have my consent for something to consume at your restaurant and charge me, even if it's 1$, it's a strike. I didn't know the tea was 1$ and I didn't want it necessarily, but the waitress placed it and walked away and only after perusing the menu did I realize I was paying for it. Not cool. The food was alright. The options seem like a lot, but they are all deep fried tofu, gluten, or veggies. The Singapore style noodles would have made for good drunk food, but it wasn't packing any distinct flavors that made me light up. The golden basket, with a smorgasbord of fried stuff, looked good on arrival, but they all fell flat in taste. This place is definitely a comfort cuisine kinda place that you would crave late night after a few drinks, but I wouldn't come here for a gourmet experience.

I have decided to not dine-in at this place again. The food is NOT the reason, but the service is. I might order to-go, but am never dining there. I had the House Special Chow Mein with BBQ Pork and Veggie Ham and the Eggplant & String Beans with black bean sauce. These are #71 and #42 on the menu respectively. Both were tasty. The Eggplant dish is super-hot and I had to cut open the eggplants to help them cool faster. ----------------------------- Reason 1). I paid in cash and was hoping to receive the change before paying them some tips. But the lady just kept the cash and said "thank you". I felt awkward to ask for the change. I wanted to give them some tips but not the full change. They should either 1). ask me if I'm offering the entire change amount as tips, or 2). offer the change amount back to me and wait for tips. ----------------------------- Reason 2). They offered tea instead of water for welcome drinks. I later saw that I was charged $1 for the tea. They should tell me before hand that the tea will cost me a dollar, and that I can shift to water if I don't want to pay for it. The tea itself was tasty, but I felt cheated of a dollar. ----------------------------- I don't think I will dine-in there ever again due to these experiences. The food itself is tasty but not their service.

We had a great meal here. We arrived at about 7.10pm and they were due to close at 8pm. The food arrived quickly and we were all very happy with the quality.

Honestly, I swear the reviews must’ve been written by friends of the owners, because this place is really bad. The woman working there was extremely rude, which instantly set the tone. The prices are ridiculously high for the tiny portions and the poor quality of food you get. Most importantly, the food tasted like it was loaded with additives — I wouldn’t be surprised if it contained MSG, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate, or even sodium benzoate. It had that unmistakable chemical aftertaste, and I left feeling bloated and gross. Definitely not worth your money or your stomach. Skip it — there are better options all over SF.
