Fancy Plants Cafe

Nice cafe with good outside seating surrounded by flowering plants. On Monday I ordered an Americano. The coffee was mediocre and the service was not welcoming. That is not the normal vibe here, so…

Stopped by Fancy Plants Cafe recently and had a solid experience. Grabbed a Croissant Sandwich, a Lavender Vanilla Latte, and a Chocolate Croissant—spent around $27 before tip. Vibe’s cozy, chill, with cute plants and friendly staff, though sandwich was a bit soggy. Still, tasty latte and pastry hit the spot. Would come back, just tweak the croissant.

This place has potential only because the food is fair for vegan but the service was horrible. Ran out of items, substituted without asking and forgot one of our orders completely, then debated us for 5 minutes whether they did or not. Totally not prepared, short handed. Would not return!

My first time at Plants, I tried the Aztec Mocha Latte—it was fantastic and left me wanting more. Rich, spiced, and well-balanced. On my next visit, I tried the Maple Citrus Crème Brûlée…big mistake. It was extremely bland with none of the flavors promised in the name. Still hoping to relive that initial experience, I ordered the Aztec Mocha Latte again. But this time it was a complete letdown—bland, milky, and missing all the notes of chili, cocoa, or cinnamon. It tasted like warm oat milk, nothing more. I had to go home and doctor it with honey and spices just to make it drinkable. It’s disappointing to spend money and not know what you’re going to get. Consistency matters.

This place has delicious food and even though there was only one person behind the counter they were very quick with my food and coffee. Super sweet and she’s doing her job very well.

The food is incredible... we like it so much, we used them as our wedding caterer last week :) The appetizers + dinner alike were both absolutely amazing and everyone (the vast majority of whom are not vegan themselves) loved the variety of fresh veggies combined with some "comfort food" classics. Kevin and his team were fun to work with and also did the event tear-down in a highly efficient manner. Also, in terms of the restaurant itself, we enjoy the many, ever-changing little paintings on the wall and we have bought at least five of them for our home.

I had a private dining birthday party at Fancy Plants Cafe last night and the service was incredible, the food was top tier, and the experience itself was out of this world. Kevin, the owner, worked with me to personalize a menu based on my tastes and seasonal food. He was communicative, had great ideas, and worked with me to ensure a birthday meal that would impress guests. Particularly memorable are the cheese plate, the asparagus arancini, and that delightful strawberry rhubarb dessert. It is an experience I’ll hold close— what a special 30th birthday. In terms of accessibility, Kevin was extremely flexible with my scheduling and COVID testing protocols, and made sure the restaurant could accommodate my party of 10, including one of us who uses a wheel chair. It was effortless to arrange and Kevin + his team put a lot of work into our wonderful night.

Love having a vegan only, plant-based spot in the neighborhood. It's just off of the busy street of Broadway but in a quiet location. My go to items are the chocolate croissant (heavenly, request them warm!) and the lavender vanilla latte. They have pretty strong wifi too so sometimes I will bring my laptop and work here for a little bit. They also have outdoor patio seating - great for when it's a beautiful day out. Sometimes they also have cooking classes / vegan events too. Follow their instagram for updates :)

Great coffee shop just off Broadway with a vegan / vegetarian focus. Interior was small but cozy with friendly staff and a patio out front. The pastries and burrito we got were very good and the coffee was nice as well. Worth the walk over if you're in the neighborhood.

Really good food! We went at 1pm and they were out of the mushroom croissant so it must be really good! The cheddar jalapeno breakfast turned out to be a small biscuit with "egg" and jalapenos. If you are hungry I recommend selecting a sandwich plate. The chocolate croissant was AMAZING. Very small setting so plan to wait for available seating but worth the wait! They were out of the lox bagel and so will have to go back again! Everything my friends had looked amazing! Definitely a MUST TRY place!
