The flavors impress your palate as much as the service impresses you. The workers are both professional and fast. The meal introduced unfamiliar elements prepared well. The meal showcased real skill. We plan to return and try different meals.

It is a mystery to me why this is a popular vegan spot. You have to pay extra for protein which makes the dishes really expensive, while the taste is sort of alright at best:( And the proteins are just added on top, not flavored, pretty dry, etc. Servers are the best, though!

I've been a customer of Spicy Moon since they opened their original location in the West Village. When they opened a second location on E 6th street, I was very happy. Normally I don't write reviews but after the last order I placed (6/20/2025) I feel compelled to do so. I placed an order for Lomein with vegan beef, string beans and and order of Spring Rolls. My meal, including tax came to over $65. I realize everything is expensive, especially take out, these days so I expect quality. I didn't get quality this time. The Lomein was okay as were the string beans, but the spring rolls were practically inedible. Soggy and full of grease! I should have known when the sealed spicy mayo container had NOTHING in it! On a previous order they forgot to include it at all. The spring rolls aren't cheap either - $10.50! The next time I order (if there is a next time), I'll double check my order before leaving the restaurant.

TLDR; Dan Dan noodles are to die for I wish I had come here when I was ravishingly hungry because I definitely feel like I missed out on so much good food. We only ordered the spicy dumplings and Dan Dan noodles - they were both super good, really flavorful and very comforting.

The food is a little bland for Sichuan standards.

I discovered Szechuan peppers recently and it gave me a new lease on life. So, when I saw this place had dandan noodles and mapo tofu, I had hope. But… there were no peppercorns! Horrible! Also, even if I had no expectations, the noodles were terrible. When I had dandan noodles in China, I had a new perspective on food. When I had them here, I wished I was eating anything else. They were bland but filling and pushy. More like porridge than Chinese food
