My first experience at Joy Cafe was AWESOME. The bagel I ordered (Cutie Tom) was perfectly prepared, as well as the Americano. HOWEVER, when I went back with a friend of mine, it ended up being a HUGE disappointment. First of all, the bagel I ordered (same as last time) came to the table cold and stale. I took it back and asked them to make another one for me. They also forgot to bring my iced coffee with the order. THEN, when I got home and looked at my receipt, I noticed they charged me a (service charge of 15%) which was an extra $3.58. If they're going to charge a service fee, they should at least be transparent about it instead of being dishonest. Oh, and my friend and I also spotted a small roach crawling on the wall as we were leaving our table. My whole experience that day was nothing like the first. Needless to say, I WILL NOT be going back to Joy Cafe. And just a warning to anyone who goes there - CHECK YOUR RECEIPT before leaving the cafe.

Absolutely delicious every single time. The smoothies are the best in the area and everything is so fresh and satisfying. Always a true joy to visit here.

Good vegan options, definitely transcends the genre while still harkening back to 1990s health food vibes. I enjoy a spot like this - reminds me of LA in the early 2000s. Very charming interiors and food. The total cost was a bit higher than I anticipated, though. The pbj smoothie is fantastic.

I found a hair in my food, and the way she reacted made it feel like it wasn’t the first time this had happened. She was oddly casual about it, which made the whole experience even more disappointing. I had to say sorry for finding hair inside to food lol. Weird, do not spend your money for this kind of unfriendly concepts,

The workers are nice enough. The food isn't bad. And as you might predict by the name, this is the choice place to go if you want nothing more than to donate all your money to Monsanto. Sorry kids, this place doesn't carry any organic soy products -- just conventional Monsanto stuff. :( But hey, some of the products have organic prices! Edit: it looks like they changed their name from Soy cafe to Joy cafe. You're welcome! Hahaha!

This place is super cute! And the food was delicious as well. I loved their hazelnut coffee drink (maybe a little too much given how many I had). I always thought it was cute when I’d walk by the place, and I’m so glad we came in the other day.

This is totally my favorite vegan spot in Philadelphia. The staff is always friendly and the food is so tasty. I just wish they would have options of different cheese as someone allergic to cashews I miss out on almost half the menu. There still is a lot of options and I’m sure a few dishes wont be bad without any cheese at all.
