Kin Cafe

Calm ambience, friendly staff and amazing food. Both noodle dishes are fantastic, fresh and full of flavor. I like tofu in general, and their lemongrass tofu is the best I can remember ever eating. I will be a regular.

The cafe is a hidden gem located in the Asian Society museum…but there is a door from the outside into the cafe. The outdoor seating is nice and a misting system periodically goes off creating a light, cool breeze. They even validate parking in the lot across the street! I had the banana bread and a Japanese style cheesecake…both were delicious:). While mostly vegetarian it’s not strictly vegetarian…my friend had the hot dog bites (they were small portions of hot dog in a light puffed pastry). In chatting with the staff I learned that they use flour from a Texas farmers coop and it makes the breads not feel heavy in your tummy. The Asian inspired lunch meals aren’t made with any fish bone meal, making them safe for folks like my friend with seafood allergies.

I tried the miso walnut chocolate chip cookie. Made from scratch in-house and it was ooey gooey flavorful perfection! I also tried the nutty latte (I can't remember it's official name) and it paired perfectly with the cookie. A balance of sweet, savory, and delectable! Can't wait to come back and try the swiss roll or the japchae!!!

James was so pleasant and the food was delightful! We had the egg rolls and the japchae glass noodle dish with the leek bulgogi and everything is vegan! We were in the area visiting from Atlanta, Georgia, and I’m so glad we found this place. It was so quiet, calm and refreshing. Thank you so much and we will definitely be back!

Hotdog bites (vegan!) were super tasty, buttery & savory. Hojicha latte was also good, not too sweet. Refreshing and light. Oatmeal cookie was warm (!) and full of craisins.

I cannot believe what a gem this place is! I feel right at home here and I'm not vegan nor vegetarian myself. Vivian crafts delicious & creative pastries that make me want to visit again and again. The staff are also so wonderful & welcoming! Shout-out to Vivian, James, and Xochi! Even if I drop in for just a cup of tea (for which there's a lovely selection) or a snack, it's a cozy spot. :)

Stopped by Asia Society of Texas on a hot Thursday afternoon and stumbled upon the sweetest little cafe on my way out. I was recommended the white peach tea -- light, fruity, and floral -- just perfect for a Houston summer! I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their drinks and bites.

Absolutely loved Kin Cafe! This place is a hidden gem in Houston — cozy, welcoming, and full of charm. The coffee is top-notch (I had the iced latte and it was perfect), and the food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell they put a lot of thought and care into everything they serve. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere made it a great spot to relax or get some work done.
