Let's start with the negative: the physical design of the working space promotes inefficiency. Three workers looking at 10-20 receipts behind one cash register, without distinguishing which are online or in-person orders, calling out people's names inside and outside the restaurant (in the hope that someone hears or is in hearing distance or isn't in the bathroom), while people pile up in a corner blocking the outside door, is what turns a simple order of 5min into a 30+ minute wait for one smoothie. There should be a hole in the wall that separates the back and front staff so they can be in lock step/coordination//communication with each other. There should be another cash register or a spot just for take out/to go orders. The whole/space in the wall could serve to display the orders and pass smoothies/bowls in between the workers. In other words, prepare for a wait time of more than 30 minutes regardless if you order 1 thing or 3 or more things, plan accordingly. Also, the parking lot is small so be mindful of the size of your vehicle or coming in peak hours. The positive: the food. Nice variety of smoothies and smoothie bowls.

This is a lovely gem of a place in Virginia Beach. I love that everything is plant-based and healthy. Their smoothies and juices are top-notch, their soups and chili are delicious, and the gift shop area is delightful with all sorts of fun stuff and local items. Don’t miss the Green Cat!

This place was great. It was clean, well-polished, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The menu was perfect, with tons of different options and very well-crafted bowls. Overall, very good experience and a good spot to stop and get a quick bite while down along Pacific Ave.

We love stopping at The Green Cat when we are in Virginia Beach. Tasty beverage & food options. Even our “picky” kids enjoyed the protein balls. Perfect little spot for healthy choices & fun gifts.

Really cool cafe, not good smoothie bowls. Don’t bother if you don’t like bananas. And $13 for a bowl where it’s not even thick, not comparable at all to a normal açaí bowl, just a really healthy smoothie with raw oatmeal on top, they should not say “granola” on the menu, and the fruit on top was either mushy or freeze dried. For the price I’d expect my blueberries to at least be firm and stemless.. Told them I didn’t like it, they offered to remake, but if you can’t do anything to make it better besides add bananas, how is that going to fix it? So wasted $13 + tip just to not have breakfast. Really upset with the waste of time and money

Loved the food here! We ordered the Green Goddess toast and a smoothie bowl, and both tasted great. I’m gluten-sensitive, so it was refreshing to have so many options to chose from. I highly recommend!
